RE: Hybrid, Travel Trailer... what is too much for my s-10?

I don't know what part of Kentucky you're in, but take into consideration the terrains of the places you might want to go camping at. I had a Ford with the smaller V-8, which towed fine on a level road or even with a little wind, but when i tried to tow the TT through mountains or moderate inclines, there was definitely a problem. Most of the time i found myself with the pedal "floored" and hoping that i would be able to make it to the top.
Hope this helps!!!!

RE: has anyone ever camped with 15A

I use the 15 amp connection from time to time, but I have one of those plug-in volt meters, and it stays just below the 110V "green zone" when the AC is on, makes me nervous.....

RE: Bye Bye PUP...hello HTT!

If you haven't already done so, make sure to get a good ladder and spend a while checking out the roof membrane for signs of repair or dry rot.....could be a costly mistake if there is a problem.

RE: hot water heater won't start with gas

I had the same exact thing happen to me last weekend. The culprit was a loose connection of the wiring harness that goes to the sensor that tells the thing to turn on and off (don't know the proper name for the part). The part was screwed under the seat frame next to the water heater in my RV. I had accidentally knocked it loose when cleaning in there. I found this out only after spending about 5 hours testing every lead and fuse in the entire system.....hope this helps. Can take pictures if needed.

RE: battery charger

I have a water proof Battery Tender, and i love it. Every time i come back from a trip, i just plug it up, and it float charges, maintaining the battery at top level until the next time i use it. I bought the waterproof model because you can just leave it hooked up indefinitely without worry of inclimate weather. I highly reccomend it.

RE: No power after connecting battery

Don't know how your system is set up, but mine gas 2 fuese (1 for +, 1 for -) under the TT right behind the battery, if you blew one of these, you won't have any internal power.
Don't reverse any wires to the battery, as these (on my TT) go directly to the + and - on the power converter/mother board system. there are also many fuses there that could be blown.

Water heater problems

Hello everyone, i have a problem with my Suburban water heater(2005). last weekend in preparation for a weekend trip, i plugged the RV into my normal 120V/15 amp receptacle only to run the fridge in preparation, but didn't realize that my water heaters' electric heater switch was on. when i got to the campground and got the RV set up, there was no hot water from the electric setting, but it worked fine on the gas. i feel like i may have burned the heating element up, but am not too sure how to verify that. anyone run into this problem? is the fix as easy as going to camping world and buying replacement parts?
Thanks for any advice you can give.
